The Portuguese Roots Database is an application for sharing information with other Portuguese family genealogists. It contains several thousand entries from other family genealogists, covering all areas of Portugal, including the Azores, Madeira, and former Portuguese colonies.
Of course, to fully take advantage of this great tool, you need to submit your own information to the database, so that it can be seen by thousands of other family genealogists who visit this web site every week. Many "cousins" have been reunited through this project since it started in 1996. The more family genealogists participate and share their information the more "matches" will be possible.
Users have full control over their entries. Using an assigned password, participants can update, ad a family portrait, or even delete their entries, if they decide for whatever reason they no longer wish to participate.
